Performances of the 2011 student production \u201cThe Inspector General\u201d by Nikoai Gogol will continue this weekend with performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and matinee performances at 2 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n
All performances are at the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater in University Hall.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Inspector General\u201d is a classic Russian play that depicts the corrupt officials of a small town in Tsarist Russia who are worried about the forthcoming visit of a government official. When a mysterious stranger turns up, they think he\u2019s the Inspector General. He\u2019s not \u2014 he\u2019s really a wild and crazy guy. Delirious mayhem ensues, according to Kevin Landis, associate professor, Visual and Performing Arts, and production director.<\/p>\n
At 2:30 p.m. March 20 at the theater, Laurence Senelick, a scholar of Russian theater, will provide a free lecture to discuss Gogol\u2019s plays.
