{"id":32384,"date":"2009-10-02T08:20:05","date_gmt":"2009-10-02T14:20:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=32384"},"modified":"2018-06-05T08:20:50","modified_gmt":"2018-06-05T14:20:50","slug":"h1n1-its-everyones-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=32384","title":{"rendered":"H1N1: it\u2019s everyone\u2019s business"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Sept. 30, 2009<\/p>\n<p>Dear Faculty and Staff:<\/p>\n<p>Many of you have heard Stephanie Hanenberg, director, Student Health Center, comment that UCCS is working with El Paso County Department of Health and Environment, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American College Health Association to track the number of influenza like illnesses we notice on our campus.<\/p>\n<p>I just wanted to remind supervisors and employees of their responsibilities regarding potential H1N1 cases, and its impact on our campus.\u00a0 The bullets below are key requirements.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flu like symptoms include\u00a0<strong>FEVER GREATER THAN 100 DEGREES<\/strong>\u00a0along with cough, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, headache, body aches, chills, and fatigue). Employees\u00a0<strong>are to be sent home<\/strong>\u00a0if they are\u00a0<strong>running a fever<\/strong>.\u00a0 It is discretionary for those with other symptoms.<\/li>\n<li>Supervisors are\u00a0<strong>REQUIRED to report these absences to HR<\/strong>\u00a0(call 255-3372) as we are trying to monitor the spread of the infection.<\/li>\n<li>Employees with a fever should not return to work until 24 hours after the fever breaks.<\/li>\n<li>Employees will NOT be required to confirm their flu like symptoms with medical documentation; however other medical conditions lasting longer than three days require medical documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have any questions, please contact me at 255-3696.<\/p>\n<p>Sincerely,<\/p>\n<p>Cindy Corwin<br \/>\nDirector<br \/>\nOffice of Human Resources<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>UCCS is working closely with the El Paso County Department of Health and Environment and the Centers for Disease Control to track cases of H1N1 or swine flu.
