Having our customers vote on their favorite charity was a great way for us to thank them and show our commitment to the local community,\u201d said Steve Helbing, Wells Fargo\u2019s regional president for southern Colorado.  \u201cMore than 13 percent of our former Wachovia customers across the state \u2013 a tremendous response \u2013 participated in the voting.  That showed us that they share our passion for maintaining strong communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe support for UCCS students is deeply appreciated,\u201d UCCS Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak said. \u201cWe are grateful the customers and staff of Wachovia, now part of Wells Fargo, recognize the role UCCS plays in building strong communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Colorado is one of six states where both Wells Fargo and Wachovia have retail banking stores, and was the first to be integrated in Nov. 2009.  Other states with both a Wells Fargo and Wachovia banking presence are Arizona, California, Illinois, Nevada and Texas.  Integration for these remaining states will take place throughout 2010.
