Union Boulevard.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph-Lipiec died Dec. 20 following a short illness.<\/p>\n<p>He joined UCCS in 2009 and taught guitar. He helped found the guitar studio of the Music Program and was a former faculty member at the Colorado Springs Conservatory and the University of Denver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlan was a beloved member of the music community, a pioneer and leader in the Front Range music scene since the 1970s,\u201d Glen Whitehead, associate professor, Visual and Performing Arts Department, said. \u201cHe was a beautiful person, famous for his sense of humor and a true virtuoso on the guitar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His family published an announcement that appeared in the Dec. 24 in the Colorado Springs Gazette. It follows.
