Employee Services is accepting electronic Tuition Waiver Benefit forms for the 2017-18 academic year through Sept. 7. With the fall semester underway, now is the time to take advantage of the Tuition Waiver Benefit as a University of Colorado employee or qualified dependent.<\/p>\n

The new electronic form<\/a> will streamline the application processes, route immediately to the appropriate approvers and trigger emails to the employee on their application\u2019s status. Employees must complete forms on behalf of any dependents.<\/p>\n

CU\u2019s Tuition Benefit provides waived or discounted credit hours to eligible employees or dependents for credit-bearing courses, online or in-person, on any CU campus. In each academic year, either the employee or dependent may use the benefit \u2013 both cannot use the benefit simultaneously. Employees must give their tuition benefit to their dependents (such as a child or spouse) for the academic year in order for it to be used by them.<\/p>\n

Employees may have tuition waived for nine undergraduate and graduate credits at any CU campus per academic year. An academic year for employees lasts from the fall semester through the following summer semester.<\/p>\n

Employees must apply as a student to the desired campus in order to receive this benefit and register on the day classes begin.<\/p>\n

Dependents have two tuition benefit options: Option A \u2013 Home Campus<\/strong> or Option B \u2013 Other Campus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Option A \u2013 Home Campus<\/strong> is available when a dependent attends undergraduate or graduate classes (some exclusions may apply) on the employee\u2019s campus of employment. UCCS dependents can have up to nine credits waived per academic year.<\/p>\n

Option B \u2013 Other Campus (Intercampus Dependent Tuition Waiver Pilot Program)<\/strong> debuts this fall. This three-year pilot is for dependents who attend undergraduate, credit-bearing courses on a campus other than UCCS.\u00a0 Employees receive $270 per credit for up to nine credit hours for the academic year. This is a savings of up to $2,430 in tuition per year.<\/p>\n
