Carla Fleury, manager, Bookstore, recently accepted a new position as conference services consultant.<\/p>\n
Effective Dec. 1, Fleury, a 23-year Bookstore veteran including the last five years as its manager, began a new position as the sales force for efforts to increase the number of conferences on campus.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m excited about the change,\u201d Fleury said. \u201cI\u2019m a sales-oriented person and I think this is a good fit for me, personally, and for the university.\u201d<\/p>\n
As conference services consultant, Fleury hopes to attract events ranging from high school proms and youth camps to professional conferences to campus. The non-UCCS groups will pay for rooms, catering and other services. Increasing conference revenue is part of plans to increase and diversity the UCCS budget.<\/p>\n
Keri Frisbie, accountant, Bookstore, will serve as interim Bookstore manager, according to Susan Szpyrka, senior associate vice chancellor, Administration and Finance. A search for a permanent Bookstore manager is planned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
