Get more information and sign up for alerts at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/alerts.uccs.edu\/\">alerts.uccs.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>By email:<\/strong> Check your official university email after an emergency for support and resource information<\/li>\n<li><strong>On the web:<\/strong> Visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/alerts.uccs.edu\/\">alerts.uccs.edu<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uccs.edu\/\">www.uccs.edu<\/a>\u00a0for detailed closure and emergency information, as well as timely and updated public safety information<\/li>\n<li><strong>On the phone:<\/strong> Call the campus closures line at 719-255-3346 for recorded information and updates related to campus closures<\/li>\n<li><strong>On social media:<\/strong> Like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/UCCS-Emergency-Management\/127512040675604?ref=br_tf\">UCCS Emergency Management<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UCCSPolice?ref=br_tf\">UCCS Police<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/UCCS\/243117181362\">UCCS<\/a> on Facebook, and follow\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/uccs\">@UCCS<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/uccs_prepared\">@UCCS_Prepared<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/uccspolice\">@UCCSPolice<\/a>\u00a0on Twitter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWhen it comes to being notified of a campus closure or delay due to winter weather, UCCSAlerts is the most effective and efficient means of receiving this information,\u201d said Tim Stoecklein, emergency manager, Department of Public Safety. \u201cWe encourage everyone to take a moment to confirm their registration information is current, particularly their mobile device number to receive text alerts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the event of extreme weather conditions, university officials strive to make closure decisions no later than 6 a.m. for morning and afternoon classes, or 3 p.m. for evening courses and activities. The Department of Public Safety encourages faculty, staff and students to use their best judgment about traveling to campus safely.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/weather.weatherbug.com\/weather-camera\/?cam=CSCMR\">WeatherBug<\/a>\u00a0camera is in place to show real-time conditions of Austin Bluffs near the Alpine Parking Garage and Field. Other resources include the state&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cotrip.org\/\">www.cotrip.org<\/a>\u00a0site, which includes road closure and forecast information.
