Moments of silence, performances of the national anthem and “God Bless America” and a speech about the importance of empathy from a Colorado Springs Fire Department member marked the 15th anniversary of 9\/11 near Osborne Science and Engineering on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

Organized by student Alec Mieras and the members of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity, the event drew a small crowd of UCCS police officers, Colorado Springs Fire Department members and leaders of the Department of Student Life and Leadership and Division of Administration and Finance.<\/p>\n
