to allow for better flow of diners as they check in and get their meals, additional menu options and better equipment in the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>The $2 million renovation incorporates what Mark Hayes, director, Dining and Hospitality Services, calls a \u201cmicro restaurant\u201d concept, similar to that of Roaring Fork, the dining facility in Alpine Village.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/160408_UCCS_Lodge_24x36-fp-elev-final.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-23377\" Summit Village, includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remodeling the entryway to create a more open area<\/li>\n<li>Creating and expanding food areas, including a larger salad bar, a separate area for allergy- and gluten-free foods and a new ice cream bar<\/li>\n<li>Building and expanding stations for an international grill, a bigger pizza area and a Mediterranean food area<\/li>\n<li>Creating better locations for such things as beverages and utensils<\/li>\n<li>Installing new kitchen equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s updated equipment, the flow is going to be better, and it\u2019s going to be a little bigger because we\u2019re pushing the walls back,\u201d Hayes said of the renovation.<\/p>\n<p>The dining area will not be renovated.<\/p>\n<p><a complete by mid-July, and the first meal served will be dinner on the day the residence halls open for move-in.
