He&#8217;s spent the time since then thinking about the play, arguably Shakespeare\u2019s greatest love story but also among the most difficult to stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never stopped loving the play,\u201d Ross said. \u201cNow we have earned a time, a place and an opportunity to do a great play by Shakespeare that isn\u2019t a hit play.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22435\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22435\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Murray-Ross-new.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-22435\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-22435\" src=\"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Murray-Ross-new-300x450.jpg\" alt=\"Murray Ross posed recently with a Shakespeare bust.\" width=\"150\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Murray-Ross-new-300x450.jpg 300w, https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Murray-Ross-new-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Murray-Ross-new-750x1125.jpg 750w, https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Murray-Ross-new-100x150.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22435\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Murray Ross posed recently with a Shakespeare bust.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The play will lead off the 2016-17 UCCS Theatreworks season, which Ross and others unveiled March 1 at a kick-off party at the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater on the UCCS campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are making a strong effort to return to our roots, which are primarily in the classics, in the great works, which we then apply our special Theatreworks mustard to,\u201d Ross said. \u201cWe do have the privilege of being able to present great works that people can\u2019t see everywhere, but can see at Theatreworks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ross noted these highlights of the season:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAntony and Cleopatra\u201d will continue Theatreworks\u2019 decades-long \u201cShakespeare in the Park\u201d tradition, playing July 28-Aug. 20 under a new tent at Rock Ledge Ranch. The production will feature actors from the American Shakespeare Center of Staunton, Virginia.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cConstellations\u201d will make its regional premiere Sept. 8-25. Ross saw the play in London three years ago and thought it was, as he said, \u201cbrilliant and moving, so suited for our intimate space.\u201d In the play, \u201can amiable beekeeper falls for a theoretical physicist, and the cosmos spins in nearly every direction,\u201d according to Theatreworks.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/BrochureCoverLo.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-22397\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-22397\" src=\"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/BrochureCoverLo-297x450.png\" alt=\"BrochureCoverLo\" width=\"297\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/BrochureCoverLo-297x450.png 297w, https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/BrochureCoverLo-99x150.png 99w, https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/BrochureCoverLo.png 590w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/><\/a>\u201cThe Game of Love and Chance\u201d runs Oct. 20-Nov. 6, \u201ca comically complicated masquerade,\u201d according to Theatreworks.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cA Christmas Carol\u201d returns to the Theatreworks stage for the first time in several years, running Dec. 1-24. This time, it&#8217;s &#8220;our inventive new version of the Dickens classic,&#8221; according to Theatreworks.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe Hairy Ape,\u201d Eugene O\u2019Neill&#8217;s 1920s play, runs Feb. 9-26.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cPride and Prejudice,\u201d April 20-May 7, will feature a version adapted for Book-It Repertory Theatre of Seattle. This will be Theatreworks\u2019 first production of a Jane Austen work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Theatreworks will bring actress Olympia Dukakis to the stage Sept. 17-21 for a concert reading of Skakespeare\u2019s \u201cThe Tempest.\u201d And the Prologue series, produced by Kevin Landis, assistant professor, Department of Visual and Performing Arts, will return for its seventh year. UCCS\u2019s student production this season will be \u201cCabaret,\u201d March 16-26.<\/p>\n<p>Theatreworks is offering two changes to tickets this season.
