Memo: Holiday break extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Dear Colleagues:<\/p>\n<p>Please accept my thanks and appreciation for all of your contributions to UCCS over the last year.\u00a0\u00a0 UCCS continues to meet our goals of providing quality education for our students at the same time that we grow teaching, research, clinical care, and creative work.\u00a0 This success is directly related to the effort, ingenuity, and sincere commitment each of you brings to our campus, community, and the state.<\/p>\n<p>In appreciation, I have decided to extend the university holiday breaks this year and as such declare the Christmas holiday to begin at noon on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 and the New Year\u2019s holiday to begin at noon on Wednesday, December 30, 2015.\u00a0\u00a0 All non-essential service units will close at noon on each of these days.<\/p>\n<p>Normal leave policies will apply to this additional time off and faculty, staff, and administrators who earn holiday leave will enter this time as administrative leave for both December 23 and December 30, 2015.\u00a0 Faculty and staff providing essential services on the afternoons of December 23 and\/or December 30 are granted alternative half days (or if combined one day), of administrative leave that must be taken by March 31, 2016.\u00a0 Questions you may have regarding leave processing and operations should be directed to the Department of Human Resources.<\/p>\n<p>I hope you will enjoy this extra time off with your family and friends.\u00a0 I know that additional time such as this is one of the most precious gifts any of us can receive.<\/p>\n<p>Happy holidays to all of you and again, thank you so very much for all you do for UCCS.<\/p>\n<p>Sincerely,<\/p>\n<p><a
