\"IMG_8631\"<\/a>More than 1,400 students will move to UCCS residence halls Aug. 18-21.<\/p>\n

Showing up as early as 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 18, 1,001 freshman housing students and their families eagerly unloaded vehicles and\u00a0carried boxes into the campus residence halls, including the latest additions \u00a0Cucharas and La Plata houses.<\/p>\n

“It’s so exciting to see the new housing village and Roaring Fork Dining Hall open,” Megan Bell, executive director,\u00a0Auxiliary Community and Learning Initiatives, said. \u201cRalph [Giese, director, Residence Life and Housing] and his entire team have worked tirelessly for move-in. Despite the typical and\u00a0unexpected challenges that come with opening new buildings, they have remained focused on creating a positive experience of our\u00a0first-year students, all going above and beyond their job descriptions and willing to do whatever it takes. I am so proud of them, and\u00a0also thankful to the faculty and staff members who stepped up to help.\u201d<\/p>\n

Students living in Crestone and Antero houses, apartment-style complex for upper-level students, will begin moving into\u00a0their rooms at 9 a.m. Aug. 21.<\/p>\n

The housing students are part of a more than 1,700 student freshman class and anticipated largest\u00a0 campus enrollment in UCCS history.<\/p>\n
