Carol S. Dweck<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

One of the world\u2019s leading researchers in the field of motivation will share her secrets for success in the workplace during a May 12 visit to UCCS.<\/p>\n

Carol S. Dweck,\u00a0Lewis and Virginia Eaton Professor of Psychology, Stanford University,\u00a0will present a lecture highlighting people succeed and how to foster success at 10 a.m. in Berger Hall.<\/p>\n

The event is sponsored by the UCCS\u00a0Gateway Program Seminar and the Faculty Resource Center, and open to the public.\u00a0Seating is limited. Faculty and staff interested in attending should RSVP here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Before joining the Stanford faculty in 2004,\u00a0Dweck taught at Columbia University, Harvard University and the University of Illinois.\u00a0She earned a B.A. in Psychology\u00a0from Barnard College in 1967, anda Ph.D. in Psychology from Yale University in 1972.<\/p>\n

Dweck’s\u00a0work has been featured in such publications as The New Yorker, Time, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Boston Globe, and she has appeared on Today and 20\/20.\u00a0Her book “Self-Theories: Their Role in Motivation, Personality, and Development” was named Book of the Year by the World Education Federation.<\/p>\n
