Theatreworks will celebrate its 40th<\/sup> anniversary by offering seven widely varying performances during its 2015-16 season.<\/p>\n

Six theatrical classics and a UCCS student production are planned. The productions, in chronological order, follow.<\/p>\n

“A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream,” July 30- Aug. 22<\/strong><\/p>\n

The season will begin with William Shakespeare’s classic at Rock Ledge Ranch on the west side of Colorado Springs. Shakespeare’s most extravagant and best-loved play features moon lit nights shining on lovers, clowns, and fairies who hip-hop through the enchanted woods.<\/p>\n

\"PrivateLives\"<\/a>“Private Lives,” Sept. 10- 27<\/strong><\/p>\n

No\u00ebl Coward’s “Private Lives” is a witty, stylish, so captivating and complex story about marriage. The main characters are divorced and honeymooning on the Riviera with their new spouses. They just happen to have booked adjacent rooms and a shared balcony.<\/p>\n

“Ghosts,” Oct. 22 \u2013 Nov. 8<\/strong><\/p>\n

Henrik Ibsen’s harrowing Scandinavian thriller once shocked and scandalized Victorian society. The production depicts a son who comes home to be with his mother, and he carries with him a secret inheritance from a dissolute past, which will tear his family apart.<\/p>\n

“Born Yesterday” Dec. 3 – 24<\/strong><\/p>\n

Garson Kanin’s classic depicts character Billie Dawn as the clueless chorus girl hauled to Washington, D.C. by her rich thuggish boyfriend. But Billie is no dummy. She learns and exercises a little influence of her own.<\/p>\n

\"satchmo-wavy-blue\"<\/a>“Satchmo at the Waldorf” Feb. 18 – March 6, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

Terry Teachout immortalizes musician Louis Armstrong in this classic which depicts Armstrong near the end of his career in his dressing room telling it like it was, and is. Actor John Douglas Thompson will bring to Colorado Springs the show that wowed Broadway audiences and provides insight into the man behind that amazing horn.<\/p>\n

\"girlofgoldenwest7a\"<\/a>“Girl of the Golden West,” April 28 – May 15, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

David Belasco’s work tells the story of a beautiful woman as she faces off with dozens of miners in an iconic gold rush romance. Polkas, poker, blizzards, bandits, book learning and a love triangle that drips blood and fires up hearts are featured.<\/p>\n

“Archangels Don’t Play Pinball,” March 31-April 10, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

The UCCS student production will be Dario Fo’s two-act adventure that depicts a protagonist who must pretend to be a dog to get what he wants.<\/p>\n
