UCCS students and members of the Office of Sustainability sifted through a day\u2019s worth of trash Nov. 20 on El Pomar Plaza to determine which items should have been recycled or composted, and to\u00a0raise awareness for campus sustainability efforts.<\/p>\n

The event was scheduled for Nov. 13, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.<\/p>\n

According to the Office of Sustainability, on average, UCCS\u00a0could have recycled\u00a0more than 50 percent\u00a0of its trash on a daily basis.\u00a0Items not being recycled include plastic water bottles, aluminum cans, and all forms of paper.<\/p>\n
