His chosen topic for this lecture is timely given recent Supreme Court cases and the complex issue of religious freedom in the workplace as it relates to healthcare.\u201d Jeff Scholes, assistant professor, Department of Philosophy, said.<\/p>\n<p>Audi\u2019s work focuses on the theory of action and political philosophy, especially the relationship between church and state. His research interests focus on ethics, political philosophy, epistemology, religious epistemology, and philosophy of mind and action.<\/p>\n<p>He is the author or editor of numerous books and articles, including \u201cMoral Perception,\u201d \u201cDemocratic Authority and the Separation of Church and State,\u201d \u201cRationality and Religious Commitment,\u201d \u201cBusiness Ethics and Ethical Business,\u201d \u201cMoral Value and Human Diversity,\u201d \u201cPractical Reasoning and Ethical Decision,\u201d \u201cThe Good in the Right: A Theory of Intuition and Intrinsic Value,\u201d \u201cThe Architecture of Reason: The Structure and Substance of Rationality,\u201d \u201cReligious Commitment and Secular Reason\u201d and Epistemology: A Contemporary Introduction to the Theory of Knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Audi is a past president of the American Philosophical Association, a former editor of The Journal of Philosophical Research, and a former director of the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institutes and Seminars on knowledge and justification.
