More than 50 new faculty members joined UCCS for the fall semester. Over the next few weeks, those who hold instructor, assistant professor or associate professor positions will be introduced to the campus. Today\u2019s installment includes 11 instructors from the colleges of Engineering and Applied Science, Letters, Arts and Sciences, the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences and Kraemer Family Library.<\/p>\n

\"Karin<\/a>
Karin Larkin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Karin Larkin, instructor, Department of Anthropology, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. <\/strong>Larkin previously was a curator of anthropology and lecturer at UCCS in addition to serving as interim director of the Gallery of Contemporary Art. She was also a curator at the Sangre de Cristo Museum, Pueblo, an instructor at Pikes Peak Community College and a visiting professor at Colorado College.<\/p>\n

She earned a bachelor\u2019s degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and master\u2019s and Ph.D. from CU-Boulder.<\/p>\n

Denise LeCompte, instructor, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences. <\/strong>LeCompte previously was a lecturer at UCCS, held positions at the Palisades at Broadmoor Park and also worked at other local assisted living facilities.<\/p>\n

She earned bachelor\u2019s degrees and a master\u2019s degree from UCCS.<\/p>\n

John Lindsey<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

John Lindsey, instructor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering and Applied Science. <\/strong>Lindsey previously was a lecturer at UCCS in addition to holding engineering positions at Agilent Technologies and other private corporations.<\/p>\n

He earned bachelor\u2019s degrees at Colorado College and Columbia University and a Ph.D. from UCCS.

Jennifer McArdle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Jennifer McArdle, instructor, Department of English, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. <\/strong>McArdle previously was a lecturer at Western State Colorado University, an instructor at American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, and an instructor at Colorado Northwestern Community College.<\/p>\n

She earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of New Hampshire and a master\u2019s from Northern Arizona University.<\/p>\n

Edward McBride, instructor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, College of Engineering and Applied Science. <\/strong>McBride previously was a part-time instructor at UCCS and was also a full-time instructor at the University of Kansas, and an associate professor at West Virginia Wesleyan College in addition to holding engineering positions in private industry.<\/p>\n

He earned a bachelor\u2019s from the University of Kansas, a master\u2019s from Harvard University and Ph.D. from the University of Kansas.<\/p>\n

Liz Medendorp<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Sherry McCormick, instructor, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences. <\/strong>McCormick previously was a professor of nursing at Hawaii Pacific University in addition to working as a nurse\u00a0 in Pearl City, Hawaii, Colorado Springs, North Carolina and Kansas City, Mo.<\/p>\n

She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and a master’s from the University of Kansas Medical Center.<\/p>\n

Liz Medendorp, instructor, Department of English, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. <\/strong>Medendorp previously was an adjunct faculty from the Colorado Community College System, a tutor, instructor\u2019s assistant and teaching assistant.<\/p>\n

She earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a master\u2019s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.<\/p>\n

Christopher Nelson, instructor, College of Engineering and Applied Science. <\/strong>Nelson previously taught undergraduate engineering mathematics at the United States Air Force Academy in addition to other positions in the Air Force.<\/p>\n

He earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from the United States Air Force Academy, a master\u2019s from Georgia Institute of Technology and completed both the Air Force test pilot school and Air War College.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Panko, instructor, Department of English, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. <\/strong>Panko previously held instructor and teaching assistant positions at Minnesota State University, Mankato and South Central College, North Mankato, Minn., in addition to working as a technical editor in private industry.<\/p>\n

She earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from Western Oregon University and a master\u2019s from Minnesota State University, Mankato.<\/p>\n

Nikki Pike, instructor, Department of Visual and Performing Arts, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. <\/strong>Pike previously was an assistant professor at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, a graduate associate at the University of South Florida and a children\u2019s art educator.<\/p>\n

She earned a bachelor\u2019s from the University of Colorado Denver, and master\u2019s from the University of South Florida.<\/p>\n

Christi Piper, instructor, Reference Department, Kraemer Family Library. <\/strong>Piper previously volunteered at the Univeristy of Colorado Denver Anshutz Campus Health Sciences Library and as a teacher for the Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center, Denver.<\/p>\n

She earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from John Brown University, Siloam Springs, Ark., and a master\u2019s degree from the University of Washington.<\/p>\n
