{"id":16315,"date":"2014-09-17T12:00:43","date_gmt":"2014-09-17T18:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=16315"},"modified":"2017-01-05T12:12:08","modified_gmt":"2017-01-05T19:12:08","slug":"be-colorado-launches-new-fitness-and-nutrition-program-for-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=16315","title":{"rendered":"Be Colorado launches new fitness and nutrition program for kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Be Colorado has partnered with leading kids fitness and nutrition organizations to create Brussels + Muscles, a free program designed to teach kids\u00a0that healthy habits can be fun.<\/p>\n<p>The program will officially kick off with two events, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Denver Zoo, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5 at the\u00a0Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n<p>Brussels + Muscles is a no-cost program available to CU Health Plan participants and their\u00a0children ages 5-11, regardless of whether\u00a0the children are\u00a0claimed as insurance plan dependents. The program uses gaming, tracking and rewards to teach kids healthy habits.<\/p>\n<p>CU Health Plan participants are invited to choose the date and location that works best for them. Each zoo event will include special adventures, games, face-painting, giveaways and lunch for everyone.
