More than 50 new faculty members joined UCCS for the fall semester. Over the next few weeks, those who hold instructor, assistant professor or associate professor positions will be introduced to the campus. Today\u2019s installment includes ten assistant professors from the colleges of Business, Letters, Arts and Sciences, Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Education.<\/p>\n

\"Ann<\/a>
Ann Amicucci<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Ann Amicucci, assistant professor, Department of English, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.<\/strong> Amicucci previously was the assistant program coordinator for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania writing program and director of the writing cetner at Duquesne University. Her teaching experience includes adjunct and teaching assistant positions at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Duquesne University, University of Pittsburgh and Youngstown State University. She earned a Ph.D. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a master\u2019s degree from Youngstown State University and bachelor\u2019s from Kent State University.<\/p>\n

\"Katie<\/a>
Katie Anderson-Pence<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Katie Anderson-Pence, assistant professor, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, College of Education.<\/strong> Anderson-Pence previously held teaching and supervisory positions in the College of Education and Human Services at Utah State University and was an elementary school teacher in three Utah communities. She earned a Ph.D. from Utah State University, a master\u2019s degree from Southern Utah University and a bachelor\u2019s from Brigham Young University.<\/p>\n

Jill Bradley-Geist<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Jill Bradley-Geist, assistant professor,\u00a0 Department of Management, College of Business. <\/strong>Bradley-Geist previously was an assistant and associate professor at California State University, Fresno She earned Ph.D. and master\u2019s degrees from Tulane University and a bachelor\u2019s degree from Truman State University.<\/p>\n

\"Jarred<\/a>
Jarred Bultema<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Jarred Bultema, assistant professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.<\/strong> Bultema previously was a graduate teaching assistant at Colorado State University and Calvin College in addition to working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, and as a chemist in industry. He earned a Ph.D. from Colorado State University and a bachelor\u2019s degree from Calvin College.<\/p>\n

\"Grant<\/a>
Grant Clayton<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Grant Clayton, assistant professor, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, College of Education.<\/strong> Clayton previously was an assessment and operations specialist in the UCCS College of Education as well as a graduate research assistant in the UCCS Center for STEM Education in addition to working in public schools in Texas and Colorado. He earned a Ph.D. from UCCS, a master\u2019s from the University of Denver and a bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Texas.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth Daniels<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Elizabeth Daniels, assistant professor, Department of Psychology, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.<\/strong> Daniels previously was an assistant professor at Oregon State University and also held teaching and research positions at the University of California, Los Angeles, and University of California, Santa Cruz. She earned Ph.D. and master\u2019s degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a bachelor\u2019s degree from Georgetown University.<\/p>\n

Somayeh Dodge<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Somayeh Dodge, assistant professor , Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.<\/strong> Dodge previously was a visiting assistant professor at UCCS and held teaching and research positions at The Ohio State University, the University of Zurich (Switzerland), Azad University (Iran) and Khaje Nasir Toosi University of Technology (Iran), Technical University of Eindhoven (Netherlands). She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Zurich and master\u2019s and bachelor\u2019s degrees from Khaje Nasir University of Technology.<\/p>\n

Martin Key<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Martin\u00a0Key, assistant professor, Department of Marketing, College of Business.<\/strong> Key previously was an assistant professor at St. John Fisher College, a consultant and counselor for the Southern Illinois Small Business Development Center and the owner of a guitar sales and repair shop. He earned Ph.D., master\u2019s and bachelor\u2019s degrees from Southern Illinois University.<\/p>\n

Scott Kupferman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Scott Kupferman, assistant professor, Department of Special Education, College of Education.<\/strong> Kupferman previously held teaching and research positions at Utah State University, California State University, Fresno, and worked with people with disabilities in schools and independent living settings. He earned a Ph.D. from Utah State University, a master\u2019s from California State University, Fresno, and a bachelor\u2019s degree from Northern Arizona University.<\/p>\n

Meghan C.
