{"id":148503,"date":"2023-06-01T10:30:21","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T16:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=148503"},"modified":"2023-06-01T10:30:22","modified_gmt":"2023-06-01T16:30:22","slug":"oit-launches-new-software-solution-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=148503","title":{"rendered":"OIT launches new software solution process"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are a campus employee and have thought, \u201cI bet there&#8217;s a software that could make my job a lot easier\u201d or \u201cI&#8217;ve read a lot of good things online about this new tool,\u201d the Office of Information Technology (OIT) would like to help you evaluate and address whether purchasing a new solution makes sense. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Application Development and Support team has created a software application review board to serve campus by helping departments identify needs or develop software solutions. The committee reviews requests made from those who are acting on behalf of a department or college, not individual requests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Requestors can open a request at the following link&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/oit.uccs.edu\/pmo\/arb\" target=\"_blank\">OIT Solution Request<\/a> or send an email to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uccs.edu\/oit\/mail%20to:%20proapps@uccs.edu\" target=\"_blank\">proapps@uccs.edu<\/a> with the following questions answered:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What is the problem you are trying to solve?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you already have a solution in mind? If so, what is it?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who is the main contact?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who is the technical contact?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When would you like to deploy this new software?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once received, the committee will review the request and collaborate with the requester on the appropriate next steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee can often address needs with existing programs or technologies which can expedite deployment and lower overall cost. There are a wide variety of application needs across our campus and the university as a whole. Many of the needs are common across multiple departments or campuses.
