Former Facebook executive and author Randi Zuckerberg examined the pros and cons of social media and how technology impacts society during a April 15\u00a0lecture at the Gallogly Events Center.<\/p>\n

Zuckerberg,\u00a0sister of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, shared her experiences as\u00a0the social media company\u2019s director of market development and the challenges she faced, ranging from when to turn off\u00a0the phone and unplug to hosting President Barack Obama in the first “Facebook Live” townhall meeting.\u00a0She also explored trends in social media.<\/p>\n

Following the lecture, Zuckerberg\u00a0took questions from audience members before moving to Dwire Hall for a book signing.<\/p>\n

The event was co-sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and the Department of Residential Life and Housing.<\/p>\n
