{"id":14069,"date":"2014-02-19T09:45:22","date_gmt":"2014-02-19T16:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=14069"},"modified":"2014-02-19T10:45:24","modified_gmt":"2014-02-19T17:45:24","slug":"photo-feature-wind-damage-on-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=14069","title":{"rendered":"Photo feature: Wind damage on campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>High winds wrought havoc on campus\u00a0during the President&#8217;s Day weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Reported gusts produced consistent speeds of 65 to 75 mph, causing damage throughout Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n<p>According to Rob\u00a0Dougherty, director, Physical Plant, damage to campus included two uprooted trees near Lot 1, fences at the Family Development Center, a\u00a0large tree in front of Cragmor Hall, a lamp post on El Pomar Plaza, and a shattered bus stop on Mountain Lion Way and Stanton Rd., near the Recreation Center.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The wind on campus over the weekend was the worst we&#8217;ve seen in a while,&#8221;\u00a0Dougherty said.<\/p>\n<p>Dougherty estimated the storm produced\u00a0about $10,000 in damage and clean up costs.
