\"bonfils70\"<\/a>The\u00a0Bonfils Blood Center will host a\u00a0two-day campus blood drive Feb. 17\u00a0and 18 in University Center 116.<\/p>\n

UCCS faculty, staff and students interested in donating blood or registering as bone marrow donors can stop by\u00a0between 10 a.m. \u2013 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. \u2013 3:30 p.m.\u00a0For more information about blood donation requirements or to set an appointment, call (800) 365-0006 or visit\u00a0www.bonfils.org<\/a>\u00a0and use site code A390. Walk-in donations will be accepted. Donors are encouraged to be well-hydrated and to have recently eaten.<\/p>\n

This is the second blood drive of the semester after Bonfils hosted an emergency collection on Jan. 27.<\/p>\n

“Their inventory was critically low in several blood types and they came to us for help,” Ida Dilwood, director, Office of Disability Services, and co-chair of this year\u2019s blood drive,\u00a0said. “We were\u00a0able to say ‘yes’ on short notice and get a room. The campus really came through for our community.”<\/p>\n

According to Dilwood, individuals who donated on Jan. 27 are unable to donate again in February. Donors must wait 56 days between donations<\/p>\n

In 2013, UCCS donated 331 pints during seven blood drives,\u00a0enough to potentially save the lives of\u00a0993 patients.<\/p>\n
