As reported in\u202fCU Connections,\u202fthe University of Colorado is taking steps to accelerate efforts around its systemwide 2021-2026 Strategic Plan\u202fas well as campus strategic plans.\u202fWith the use of one-time funds to help accelerate strategic initiatives, CU is launching action steps to deliver on the pillars of these strategic plans.\u202fRead the full announcement<\/a> on CU Connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CU,\u202flike many organizations\u202fthis fiscal year,\u202fhas reported\u202fa historic return on investments.\u202fOver the next few years, CU will leverage one-time funds to support strategic initiatives at all four campuses.\u202fThe CU Regents have approved $16.2 million for UCCS in fiscal year 2022\u201323 so far.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At UCCS,\u202fthese one-time\u202ffunds\u202fwill be used\u202fto\u202finvest in students\u202fand facilities, with\u202fa\u202fparticular focus on\u202fincreasing\u202fstudent\u202ffinancial\u202faid\u202fto make education more affordable; investing in research; funding campus sustainability and deferred maintenance needs;\u202fand\u202fhelping to fund\u202fthe\u202fengineering\u202fbuilding\u202frenovation,\u202famong other initiatives.\u202fEach of these initiatives are priorities laid out in the UCCS 2030 Strategic Plan.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is positive news for the CU System and\u202ffor\u202fUCCS,\u201d said Chancellor Venkat Reddy. \u201cOur ability to\u202fprovide more financial aid opportunities for\u202four students makes\u202fUCCS more affordable and accessible.\u202fThe one-time nature of these funds allows\u202fUCCS to address critical strategic needs, however these monies cannot be used for base funded areas such as pay raises and wages. We look forward to partnering with our colleges and shared governance bodies\u202fas we\u202fcontinue to chart the next decade of success for UCCS.\u201d\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
