Find details on how and where to give below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">End of year giving options:\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>In person:<\/strong>\u00a0Development staff will process gifts normally through Dec. 23.\u00a0After Dec. 23, please call 719-255-5100 to schedule a pick-up of checks by a Development team member.<\/li><li><strong>Online:<\/strong>\u00a0For\u00a0donors who want to receive a charitable gift receipt for 2021, we encourage donors to make\u00a0an\u00a0<strong>online donation at\u00a0<\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/giving.cu.edu\/uccs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>giving.cu.edu\/uccs<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0before\u00a011:59 p.m. MST Dec. 31.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>By phone:<\/strong>\u00a0Call\u00a0the CU Gifts and Records Hotline at (303) 541-1290 before 5 p.m. MST Dec. 31.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>By check:<\/strong>\u00a0Gifts sent by mail need to have a legible 2021\u00a0postmark date from the United States Postal Service or another carrier. The CU Foundation recommends putting the envelope in the mail no later than Dec. 27.\u00a0UCCS and the IRS can\u2019t use the date on the check to process 2021\u00a0gifts.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other resources:\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The CU Foundation provides additional information for gifts made through an IRA and through a transfer\u00a0of\u00a0stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other marketable securities. Visit\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/giving.cu.edu\/making-your-end-year-gift\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>giving.cu.edu\/making-your-end-year-gift<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>for additional information.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special instructions to campus partners who receive gifts via mail:\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All employees who receive checks mailed to their&nbsp;office should forward all materials, including all envelopes, to UCCS Development in Main Hall Suite 301 no later than&nbsp;Dec. 23,&nbsp;regardless&nbsp;of&nbsp;postmark date. Gift Management must retain these envelopes to help address any questions or concerns on the receipt date.&nbsp;<\/li><li>If you or your office receives a donor gift between&nbsp;Dec. 23&nbsp;and Dec. 31, please email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:development@uccs.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">development@uccs.edu<\/a>&nbsp;for special handling.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Resources for all employees:\u00a0\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>At all times, employees should forward gifts to UCCS Development or Student Financial Services on the same day or next business day to ensure timely processing.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Employees should never give anything that could resemble tax advice. The donor is responsible for making those decisions with their financial advisor.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Employees are encouraged to change their outgoing voicemail and out-of-office replies to help direct donors to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.giving.cu.edu\/uccs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>giving.cu.edu\/uccs<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0for online gifts by 11:59 p.m. MST Dec. 31.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Almost all charitable donations to UCCS should be deposited and receipted through the CU Foundation, even if the check is made out to a UCCS entity. The Board\u00a0of\u00a0Regents\u00a0Policy 13.f directs\u00a0that all charitable donations (with a few rare exceptions) that are intended to support CU and UCCS be deposited through the Foundation.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questions?
