Career planning is central for any college student \u2014 and now, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs\u2019 expanded and relocated hub for career services is located at the heart of the UCCS campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UCCS celebrated the grand opening of the T. Rowe Price Career and Innovation Center at an Oct. 25 ribbon-cutting ceremony packed with campus and community leaders, as well as representatives from T. Rowe Price, a global management investment firm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speakers included Chancellor Venkat Reddy, Carlos Garc\u00eda, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Danny Pape, Director of the Career and Innovation Center, Flora Jathanna, a UCCS student in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program, John Brothers, President of the T. Rowe Price Foundation and Susan Nakai, Head of Individual Investors, Services and Operations at T. Rowe Price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe opening of the T. Rowe Price Career and Innovation Center signifies both a partnership and a dream come true,\u201d Reddy said. \u201cWe know this center is not just a gift to UCCS, but it is also a gift to those in the Pikes Peak Region and the entire state of Colorado who rely on talented, skilled employees and well-rounded citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Career and Innovation Center was made possible thanks to a transformational gift from T. Rowe Price. It reimagined existing space in UCCS\u2019 University Center, located in the middle of campus and the home of student services including the Department of Student Life, the Student Government Association, the Multicultural Office for Student Access, Inclusiveness, and Community (MOSAIC) and LGBTQ+ Resource Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new center provides a one-stop hub for career exploration and counseling, resources and education, information about internships and open positions, access to interview rooms and events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Career and Innovation Center is open to all UCCS students and alumni. Its goal is to empower students with the skills and resources they need to design their career journeys \u2014 throughout the entirety of their academic careers and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the new, centrally-located space and increased resources and opportunities, the university anticipates increased internship opportunities for students from all backgrounds and elevated workforce and economic impact throughout the Pikes Peak region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
