Phil and Ann Winslow of Winslow BMW were honored with the 2021 College of Business Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award at one of the first large-scale celebrations at UCCS since last March.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In one of the first large-scale events since last March, UCCS honored business leaders and philanthropists Phil and Ann Winslow with the 2021 UCCS College of Business Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award at the Ent Center for the Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BMW is an international brand, but to Colorado Springs\u2019 residents, Winslow BMW is a family-owned business that is characterized by loyalty and quality. With a 60-year legacy of entrepreneurship and philanthropy in Colorado Springs, the Winslows have not just been integral to the automobile industry of the region, but have also made a mark on the Colorado Springs community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, the Winslows have been strong supporters of UCCS student scholarships. Over the past four decades, they have made significant contributions to the Karen Possehl Women’s Endowment, which supports women who are starting or returning to college after overcoming significant personal adversity, and the Reach Your Peak scholarship, which supports middle-income students who require financial assistance to make their education possible. They have also supported college-level scholarships, including the Robert Knapp Scholarship in the College of Business and the John Suthers Scholarship in the School of Public Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2009, the UCCS College of Business has honored entrepreneurs who have transformed the local economic landscape with the Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award. The 2021 celebration was a fundraising event supporting the UCCS College of Business Alumni Association and the newly launched College of Business R.O.A.R. Program, which connects alumni, employers and community professionals to students through career exploration, internship and mentorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ann Winslow\u2019s passion for cars was apparent from an early age. She has blended a love of automobiles with business acumen and a community focus. In 2011, she was honored as a Colorado Springs Business Journal\u2019s Women of Influence for her professional accomplishments and dedication to the community.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

At just 24 years old, Phil Winslow became the youngest Volkswagen dealer in the country and has since driven decades of continuous growth and success for formerly-named Phil Winslow Motors, Inc. and now Winslow BMW of Colorado Springs. With an affection for education, Phil Winslow was appointed by both Republican and Democratic governors of Colorado to serve 10 years as a trustee of the State Colleges of Colorado and has served UCCS and the local school systems in various capacities.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

While they work as a team, Phil and Ann were recognized with individual awards honoring their distinct contributions to the Colorado Springs automotive industry and their passion for education, student success and the betterment of their community.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
