What work is being done to revitalize the Colorado Springs\ndowntown? How are UCCS alumni creating positive change in the Pikes Peak region?\nWhat is it like to write stories for a living? How is the UCCS Career Center\npreparing students for a changing economy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UCCS Downtown\u2019s virtual “Feed Your Curiosity” mini-series answers each of these questions and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series takes place each week on Instagram Live and features UCCS student hosts interviewing local alumni, faculty members and staff on their work. Launched in May 2020, the series has showcased members of the Office of Alumni Relations and the Annual Fund, the Career Center, University Communications, the Downtown Partnership and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our mission with Feed Your Curiosity is to reestablish and enhance the connection we have to students, alumni and community stakeholders,” said Stephanie Adams, director of UCCS Downtown. “Our open-style interview format allows us to convert the value of our physical space where connections are made, to a virtual environment during the COVID19 pandemic.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student hosts have interviewed alumni including Jonathan\nToman \u201916, manager of Peak Radar, Josh Gates \u201911, director of community impact\nat Pikes Peak United Way and Laura Austin-Eurich \u201995, associate chair, senior\ninstructor and director of undergraduate studies for the UCCS Department of\nCommunication. This summer, the series will expand its scope to spotlight\ndowntown businesses, host interviews with alumni at work and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upcoming guests include Karen Markel, new dean of the College of Business, <\/strong>Zachary Barker, president of Colorado Springs Rising Professionals and assistant vice chancellor of marketing and communications Chris Valentine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
