The hat trick was the first of Hertzberg&#8217;s career and the first UCCS hat trick since Jason Stewart scored three goals against Colorado Christian on October 31, 2010.<\/p>\n<p>On the defensive side of the ball Costa collected his third and fourth shutouts of the season. His first clean sheet came during Hertzberg&#8217;s hat trick as Costa made two saves in the win. His second shutout of the week came at home against Colorado Mesa in a 0-0 tie that saw Costa get bombarded with 17 shots. He made nine saves in that contest.<\/p>\n<p>This is Costa&#8217;s third time earning RMAC Defensive player of the week honors this season. Costa also moved into a tie with former UCCS goalkeeper Mike Archuleta for second most shutouts ever in school history with 14.<\/p>\n<p>Costa is ranked top three in the RMAC in multiple statistical categories including shutouts per game, save percentage, goals against average and saves per game.<\/p>\n<p>UCCS will try to complete their current home stand undefeated when they take on Metro State at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Mountain Lion Stadium.
