Her research focuses on positive identity development for transgender and gender-expansive youth. She also researches advocacy efforts and trauma treatment models for special populations, including the LGBTQ+ community. Stark received her Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stark is also a clinician at the Trauma Treatment Center and\nResearch Facility. She is trained in eye movement desensitization and\nreprocessing, a form of psychotherapy designed to alleviate distress caused by\ntraumatic experiences and memories.
