{"id":12007,"date":"2013-09-19T10:13:32","date_gmt":"2013-09-19T16:13:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=12007"},"modified":"2013-09-19T10:13:32","modified_gmt":"2013-09-19T16:13:32","slug":"fall-social-media-training-scheduled-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=12007","title":{"rendered":"Fall social media training scheduled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four training sessions for UCCS staff and faculty members responsible for maintaining or creating department social media sites are scheduled for the fall semester.<\/p>\n<p>The sessions focus on the requirements, responsibilities and expectations of managing an institutional account and covering industry best practices for social media use.<\/p>\n<p>Those who are\u00a0responsible for managing or\u00a0maintaining a UCCS institutional account are required to complete a\u00a0social media terms and conditions form and attend a training session. The\u00a0form and training dates can be found at:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uccs.edu\/socialmedia\">www.uccs.edu\/socialmedia\/training.html<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Training times and locations follow:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sept. 26, 2:30 p.m. &#8211; 3:30 p.m., Dwire 205<\/li>\n<li>Oct. 16, 2 p.m. &#8211; 3 p.m., UC 126<\/li>\n<li>Nov. 21, 1 p.m. &#8211; 2 p.m., UC 126<\/li>\n<li>Dec. 17,\u00a01 p.m. &#8211; 2 p.m., UC 126<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reservations are required. To attend, please send an email with your name, department affiliation, and preferred date to Philip Denman, social media and communication specialist, University Advancement,\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:pdenman@uccs.edu\">pdenman@uccs.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0UCCS does not limit the private use of social media, it is important to realize\u00a0that the\u00a0same laws, professional expectations, and guidelines for\u00a0interacting with students, parents, alumni, donors, media, and other\u00a0university\u00a0constituents apply online as in person. As university employees, UCCS faculty and staff represent the university in and outside of\u00a0the\u00a0office and classroom .
