He recently served as president of the board of directors for the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) and is a UCCS Excellence in Leadership program alumnus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I am honored to be asked to serve as interim vice chancellor for student success,&#8221; Garc\u00eda said in response to the announcement. &#8220;I look forward to serving the division and to continue moving it forward.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garc\u00eda earned bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from the\nUniversity of Texas at El Paso and is a Certified Auxiliary Services\nProfessional.
