Three visual and performing arts students recently redesigned a mural for Ent Federal Credit Union\u2019s service center in the University Center.<\/p>\n

For six months, Elena Clark, Colorado Springs, senior, Kori Pothour, Wiley, senior, and Rachel Davidson,\u00a0Colorado Springs, senior, worked with Valerie Brodar, associate professor, Department of Visual and Performing Arts, to design and create the mural called \u201cUnity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The final product is a 10-foot-tall piece of original art that illustrates the support and collaboration Ent provides for the UCCS students, staff and faculty as well as the Colorado Springs community.<\/p>\n

According to the mural\u2019s description, \u201cthe use of bright colors, organic lines and shapes were meant to evoke the beautiful essence of Colorado Springs and the stunning Rocky Mountains. The glass tiles represent the diversity of people who join together to create a dynamic and economically vibrant community.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very impressed with what the students created and are proud to display it in our service center here at UCCS,\u201d Matt Gendron, senior vice president of operations, Ent, said. \u201cThese students collaborated well and are very talented; their creativity and artistic ability definitely shows in the final product.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mural was unveiled at a April 22 ceremony. Clark, Pothour and Davidson received a cash gift for their work and a plaque in their honor was placed at the mural.<\/p>\n

The mural is the third student-made mural displayed in the Ent service center since 2008.<\/p>\n
