The Leadership Pikes Peak 2023 Community Leadership Awards were held on Friday, June 16. At the awards luncheon, Gretchen Bliss received the Gary Bostrom Community Inspiration Leadership Award and Sloan Gonzales received the Emerging Leader Award. (More)
The National Centers for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity Community of Practice for Cyber Defense has awarded UCCS 3rd place in the Nation in the 2022 CAE-CD Community Outreach Awards. It has also given Gretchen Bliss a Community Service Recognition Award. (More)

“State of Science in Alarm System Safety: Implications for Researchers, Vendors, and Clinical Leaders” was awarded Best Research Article. Shouhuai Xu, professor in cybersecurity, was one of the authors. (More)
Shouhuai Xu, a UCCS professor in computer science, recently published a paper on USENIX Security 2023 that demonstrates a novel inaudible voice trojan attack to exploit vulnerabilities of smart device microphones and voice assistants. (More)
October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a federal initiative to increase attention to, understanding of, and action regarding personal security. UCCS is all in on reinforcing the collective need to “See Yourself in Cyber,” the 2022 theme of NCSAM. (More)
Cyber clubs at UCCS, including the Mountain Lions Cyber Club and the UCCS chapter of Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) teach hands-on skills to prepare students for future careers in cybersecurity. (More)
