Campus earns kudos for economic development leadership

The Colorado Springs Regional Economic Development Corporation recognized UCCS with leadership awards at a Wednesday lunch.

The university was recognized with the following awards

  • Community Enhancement Awards. The Science & Engineering Building was recognized.
  • UCCS also shared in a second community enhancement award given to Kratt Commercial Properties Olive Real Estate Group, the City of Colorado Springs and the Urban Renewal Authority  for the University Village retail center on North Nevada.
  • Volunteer of the Year. Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak was recognized along with Chris Jenkins, president Nor’wood Development, for co-chairing Operation 6035, a regional economic development strategy plan.
