The University Marketing department earned two awards for its work on the UCCS Fuels SUCCESS campaign during the 2019 District VI Conference of the Council for the Advancement and Support in Education Jan. 14 in downtown Denver. The campaign was launched in fall 2018 after a year of research, testing and development between UCCS and Karsh Hagan, a Denver-based agency.
“We are excited about our team’s work on this campaign and what it is accomplishing,” said Eric Nissen, associate director of marketing and eCommunications. “At UCCS, students are behind everything we do, and this campaign speaks to this quality. We’re proud to receive this recognition from CASE and bring these awards back to the outstanding students, staff and faculty that make UCCS so special.”
The commercial, which debuted during Monday Night Football Oct. 1, earned the gold award in the PSAs and commercial spot category. The video was shot in the El Pomar TV Studio with production assistance from UCCS students. The full commercial has been viewed to completion more than two million times online and used in broadcast and digital advertising venues throughout Colorado.
The annual viewbook earned a bronze award among student recruitment publications. The book was redesigned to match the current campaign materials and has been used to build tailored viewbooks in colleges and offices on campus.
The commercial and viewbook were part of the overall campaign rollout, that included new banners on campus and on N. Nevada Ave., a new mural on the south side of Cragmor Hall, a redesigned institutional website and additional print and digital advertising.
