Housing & Building Association partners with UCCS for expo space

The Housing & Building Association of Colorado Springs announced Tuesday that its Board of Directors will enter into a contract with the regents of the University of Colorado to operate the North Nevada Expo Center at a portion of the 3650 North Nevada Ave. property owned by the university and operated by UCCS. Chancellor to moderate mayor forum

Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak will moderate a mayoral candidate forum beginning at 5:15 p.m. March 1 at the Fine Arts Center, 30 West Dale Street.

The forum will feature six candidates: Steve Bach, Brian Bahr, Tom Gallagher, Buddy Gilmore, Dave Munger and Richard Skorman. The candidates will answer questions and participate in a reception. (More)

Education dean search continues

UCCS will continue to search for a new dean of the College of Education, according to Peg Bacon, provost.

Two finalists for the position visited the campus in January. Following the visits, Bacon asked the search committee to continue its work and bring additional candidates to campus. (More)

Forum details CU branding effort

There is no more “at” in the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Martin Wood, vice chancellor, University Advancement, led an overview Wednesday of a branding effort in the works for more than 18 months that includes revisions to the UCCS logo, setting of standards for everything from web pages to business cards, identification of four core messages, and the loss of a two-letter preposition. Mount Trashmore nets recyclable treasure
