Entrepreneurs will take to their corners and go head-to-head in five rounds to make their pitch as Get in the Ring Colorado returns to UCCS March 12. The winner will receive an invitation to the global finals May 30 through June 1 in Lisbon, Portgual, along with an airline ticket and $1,500.
The competition, which takes place inside a boxing ring, features 30-second rounds for entrepreneurs to talk about their team, achievements, business model and market, financials and proposition, and a freestyle round to cover any other topics. A judging panel will be able to ask questions and audience members will be able to provide feedback as teams advance through the competition.
Two student teams from UCCS and one from the U.S. Air Force Academy will compete along with entries from Denver, New Jersey and Indiana.
The event is hosted by the UCCS El Pomar Institute for Innovation and Commercialization, and the Quad Innovation Partnership. The competition begins at 5 p.m. in Berger Hall. The event is free to attend, RSVP is required.
