Carla Fleury, manager, Bookstore, recently accepted a new position as conference services consultant.
Effective Dec. 1, Fleury, a 23-year Bookstore veteran including the last five years as its manager, began a new position as the sales force for efforts to increase the number of conferences on campus.
“I’m excited about the change,” Fleury said. “I’m a sales-oriented person and I think this is a good fit for me, personally, and for the university.”
As conference services consultant, Fleury hopes to attract events ranging from high school proms and youth camps to professional conferences to campus. The non-UCCS groups will pay for rooms, catering and other services. Increasing conference revenue is part of plans to increase and diversity the UCCS budget.
Keri Frisbie, accountant, Bookstore, will serve as interim Bookstore manager, according to Susan Szpyrka, senior associate vice chancellor, Administration and Finance. A search for a permanent Bookstore manager is planned.
