The UCCS Science & Engineering building was recently selected for a Building of America Award by Southfield, Mich.-based Construction Communications.

On June 4, Construction Communications announced awards for projects that represent the best in new construction and renovation in a wide variety of categories, including commercial and retail, mixed-use, multifamily residential, government, transportation/infrastructure, health care, education, religion, and historical restoration. Submitted projects were reviewed by a selection committee with awards based on unique design or construction elements, innovative solutions to challenges, and significant regional economic impact.

The Building of America Network, created by Construction Communications, profiles new construction and renovation projects in a case-study format. The case studies help owners learn from each other. A profile of the Science & Engineering building is available at http://buildingofamerica.com/news/articles/ef/0610/uccssciencebuilding/index.html.

Science & Engineering Building at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs is really a nice building. Interesting to know that these buildings qualify for architectural awards.
