Education dean finalists to visit campus

Three finalist candidates for the position of dean of the UCCS College of Education will meet with faculty and staff in open forums and campus receptions during April 12, 19 and 26. A fourth finalist met with faculty and staff April 5.

Brief descriptions of the candidates and the dates and times of their forums and receptions follow. The candidates were selected as finalists by a campus-wide search committee chaired by Venkat Reddy, dean, College of Business. (More)

Christensen to return to faculty

Tom Christensen, dean, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, recently announced plans to return to the faculty in June 2012.

Christensen will return to teaching and research as a professor in the Department of Physics and Energy Science. (More)

New police officer joins UCCS

One new staff member joined UCCS in March. Jeremy Simenson began March 15 as a police officer for the Department of Public Safety.

Ann McCready, a staff member from 1967 until her retirement as a program assistant in the College of Engineering and Applied Science in 2000, died March 29 at her home in Black Forest. She was 88 years old. (More)

A memorial service for Louis Cicotello will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011, 3 p.m., in the Lodge at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Louis Martsolf Cicotello (born August 23, 1940) passed away unexpectedly March 6, 2011 while pursuing his love of hiking and canyoneering in Utah. (More)

Education dean search continues

UCCS will continue to search for a new dean of the College of Education, according to Peg Bacon, provost.

Two finalists for the position visited the campus in January. Following the visits, Bacon asked the search committee to continue its work and bring additional candidates to campus. (More)
